Back in June M22 Promotions has their maiden event which was headlined by two time world title challenger Stephen Smith, it provided accessible & affordable entertainment for the local community around the Wythenshawe Park Lifestyle Centre something which is something Joe himself is very passionate about, this weekend’s offering is a spectacular line for a small hall show.
Here’s a preview & breakdown of each of the home fighters on the card;
Paul Butler (29-2 15 KOs) is a one time IBF bantamweight world champion as well as holding multiple other titles across multiple weights, a veteran of a 10 year, 31 fight career Butler currently sits at no.3 in the IBF world rankings & could be on the verge of another world title tilt. ‘The Baby Face Assasin’ will be looking to tick over with a victory against Antonio Horvatic (11-59) on Sunday’s bill as he awaits the outcome of the World Boxing Super Series final between feared Japanese power puncher Naoya Inoue & the legendary Nonito Donaire who will contest the IBF & WBA Bantamweight straps.
Still only 26 years old, Marcus Morrison has already amassed a 24 fight record that began back in 2014. Marcus cruised his way to 14-0 before losing 3 of his next 5 fights between March 2017 & June 2018, ‘Sweet MNM’ has since rattled of 5 consecutive wins including a career best victory last time out when he blasted his way to a TKO victory in the 9th round of his headlining bout against Emanuele Blandamura out in Italy to revitalise his career.
Sam ‘Nowhere2’ Hyde boxes for the 2nd time since suffering the sole loss on his slate, a stoppage reverse to Richard Riakphore back in November last year on the undercard of Alexander Usyk v Tony Bellew’s huge cruiserweight undisputed bout, it was a massive platform for Sam Hyde to be on & the fight was stopped in the 8th round due to an horrific injury suffered by Hyde which resulted in a grotesque swelling to his eye, rendering him unable to continue. A return to British title contention should not to far off for the likeable Mancunian.
‘The Naytrix’ made his professional debut back in August a 4 round points victory & will be fighting for the second times in as many months when he steps in the ring this Sunday. A highly decorated amateur & the younger brother of Kieran Farrell, Nathan has overcome battles outside the ring including serious knee injuries to pursue a professional career, there could be some big opportunities ahead for the exciting Heywood native.
Featherweight contender George Brennan holds a record of 9-3-1 & has challenged for the Central Area Featherweight Title just last year losing a points decision over 10 rounds to the then undefeated Zahid Hussain. Back to back shut out points victories since that loss has helped Brennan rebuild as he looks to get back into Central Area title contention.
Exciting & undefeated Middleton boxer Connor Lynch has a record of 4-0 & was most recently in action on the undercard to Hughie Fury’s victory over Chris Norrad back in May, a convincing points victory that night was the second such success of the year & Lynch will be looking to add to that this Sunday before a quick fire return to the ring in October.
A stellar amateur boxer, King will be making his professional debut on the bill & will be fighting a fellow debutant in Ryan Hibbert. With a solid background in the amateur game Wycombe King will be looking to hit the ground running with a victory in his maiden pro contest.
It promises to be a cracking show & SimBoxx will be ringside to report live, keep up to date with all the latest interviews & news by following SimBoxx on Twitter, Instagram & YouTube👊🥊
